Year 7 have been looking at the writings of William Shakespeare as part of our humanities work. Having already researched the Tudor period in great detail, we have been interested in seeing how Shakespeare’s work is linked to this particular period in time.
We started off our study by thinking about the different types of play that Shakespeare wrote. Year 7 were able to identify that a story such as The Taming of the Shrew is very different in style to Macbeth. We were able to group together three broad genres that classify the plays of Shakespeare: comedy, tragedy and historical.
Our work is now starting to explore the language used by Shakespeare. We have seen how this has some similarities with modern day English, but it also has many differences. You can find out a little more about our Year 7 humanities work in the recording below.
