Singing and Signing Assembly

Assembly

We welcomed back all pupils at Lansdowne School for the new term with our weekly Friday morning singing assembly. This is a wonderful opportunity for all year groups to come together and share our knowledge of singing and signing.

As the spring term has only just started, it was not possible to award individual subject certificates to pupils. These will carry on as from next week. The teaching staff collectively decided that the class of the week should go to the whole school. We have been impressed with the start that all year groups have made to the new term.

The highlight of the assembly is always when the Lansdowne School Choir help the other pupils to learn some new songs. We are currently perfecting our singing and signing for Count on Me. Each week the pupils are given guidance on the signs for a new verse.

We finished off the assembly by inviting one of our enthusiastic signers to choose a song. Tyreak selected I Can See Clearly, and then led the way by helping out with the signing. We encourage as much support from both pupils and staff during our assemblies.

You can listen to some of the highlights from our first assembly of the new term in the recordings below.
