Our art lessons in Year 10 for the start of the summer term have focussed around stencils and spray paint. The students have been studying the imagery used in the The Day of the Dead. We have used this as an inspiration to come up with our own art designs.
The first stage was to create a series of stencils. This then allowed the Year 10 pupils to experiment with a number of different colours. Paint was sprayed on to create an effect that we felt suited the mood.
This process is all in preparation for the final stage. The students will be using Photoshop to recreate digitally the stencils that have been designed. The powerful software will allow an exact replica to hopefully be produced on the school computers.
