Year 7 have been completing some end of year maths assessments as we come towards the close of the teaching year at Lansdowne School. The aim for these assessments is for the teaching staff to monitor the progress that has been made, and then to set the learning targets that we would like each class member to achieve next year.
A wide range of maths teaching has taken place throughout the past year. The assessment covered questions on shapes, fractions, division, column addition, sorting and even some mental maths problems to be solved.
The pupils worked through the assessment sheets independently. Once the papers had been marked, we asked each class member to identify and understand any small errors, and then to self-correct.
Some of the pupils have already started a short introduction to some of the maths learning that will take place when they return as Year 8 students in September.
