Year 10 concluded their literacy and drama learning for the school year by working on perfecting some of the acting themed around Treasure Island, our current reading text for the summer term.
The drama session started off with a new passage being introduced to the pupils. The script was read through by the whole class and we held a discussion about what is taking place, as well as thinking about some of the character motivations.
Two small groups were then formed to rehearse and act out the scene. The students decided amongst themselves which characters they would like to play. Thought was also given to stage directions and some of the props that could be used.
The two groups came together at the end of the drama lesson to share their work. You can watch some of this work in progress in the short video above.
