Work on the brand new Lansdowne School has been progressing at an incredible pace over the six week summer break. The pupils returned to teaching in September to be greeted with the site of the old playground now having been transformed into the foundations for the new school.
The entire space was dug up, and then deep level damp proofing was added. Some of the plumbing for the new school building has also been put in placef. The old school house has been pulled down, along with the Premises Manager’s house.
This is a highly organised operation. A number of temporary office spaces have been set up in the old playground for the construction team that is managing this project. The new school building remains on schedule to be ready for teaching for hopefully in the summer term of 2016.
We would like to remind all students, parents and carers that a few changes have been put in place to help with the building work. The school will be open from 8:45am each morning once the new term starts.
Due to health and safety reasons students will not be allowed on the premises before this time, unless they have signed up for the Lansdowne Breakfast Club which starts at 8:35am. Students that are not independent travellers should not be left unaccompanied.
We will continue to publish updates on the school website over the coming weeks as the construction of our new Lansdowne School building continues.
