The weekly Lansdowne School Singing and Signing assemblies continue to be one of the highlights of the school week. These take place each Friday morning. They are a wonderful opportunity for the whole school to come to together to enjoy some singing, and to celebrate the achievements over the past week.

A recent assembly saw the Lansdowne Choir lead the way with some lively renditions of Imagine, Walking on Sunshine and Waving Flag. Mikita was joined by Choir members at the front of the assembly to lead with the signing. It was great to see the new Year 7 students sitting on the front row joining in with enthusiasm.

Miss O’Leary then presented the certificates for the Star Achievers of the Week. Each subject teacher rewarded a pupil who has shown outstanding class work over the past week.

Finally the assembly came to a close with the Class of the Week trophy being presented. Miss O’Leary asked the assembly what is needed in order to receive five ticks at the end of each lesson. This can be achieved by following the five Fresh Rules of Lansdowne School:

F – Follow instructions

R – Right place, right time

E – Everyone deserves respect

S – Speak politely

H – Hands and feet to yourself

Class 7JO received 66% of their five ticks for the past week. In second place was Class 9NM with a high 86%. The winners though were ClassJH with an outstanding 90%

Finally the assembly came to a close by singing Happy Birthday to Lewis and Luka.
