Year 9 have been making some tremendous progress on telling the time during our current maths learning at Lansdowne School. Different groups have completed various tasks, depending on the learning expectations that the teaching staff have.
One group has been working on looking at analogue clocks and being able to recognise quarter past, half past and quarter to. Another group has carried out a similar exercise, but using a digital clock instead.
Another exercise has involved studying time intervals. This involves pupils looking at a particular time, and then working out what the time will be in five minutes time. Large analogue clocks have been used to help with this learning.
The session finished off with a group game involving the pupils identifying what the time is on the analogue clock. The first class member to correctly recognise the time was the winner.
