Lansdowne School Council Updates

The Lansdowne School Council continues to come up with ideas about how we can improve our school. Mr Jukes Chaired a recent meeting. One of the suggestions was for a music competition. Mr Jukes is hopeful that Lansdowne’s Got Talent can return later in the school year.

This then led to another Cllr talking about a school poetry competition. Mr Jukes was impressed with this idea. Poetry forms a strong part of the English curriculum throughout the school.

The Breakfast Club in our new school cafe is settling down well. One of the Cllr’s raised the idea of having a healthier menu. Porridge, toasted brown bread and fruit juice will now be considered. Mr Jukes said that this was an excellent suggestion as we are aiming for a Healthy School status.

The Council meeting concluded with discussions about the plans for World Book Day. We are hoping that as many pupils as possible will be able to dress up as their favourite book character.
