Year 12 have started to explore the components that we find in computers as part of our ICT learning. Class teacher Mr Gratton asked the pupils what they were expecting to see inside.
We were quite surprised with some of the results. The students weren’t expecting to find a couple of fans to help cool down the Central Processing Unit.
Mr Gratton was able to guide the students through each of the items inside. We could see what happens when we make commands using the keyboard and how this knowledge is then processed.
Year 12 were shown the motherboard, the Central Processing Unit, the cooler, the hard drive and the Random Access Memory. A worksheet was completed by all pupils to record our knowledge.
