Year 7 Introduction to Aboriginal Artwork

Year 7 have been exploring different techniques that we can use in our art work. The pupils are currently looking at how the use of dots can add a detailed effect to our artwork.

We have used some Aboriginal art as the starting point for this work. Year 7 were asked to look at the finer details in the design. We saw how many hundreds of dots are used to create the design.

The pupils were given a choice of subject matter for their own designs. Snakes, tortoises and lizards all featured. The class members were asked to experiment with the size of the dots to see how this changes the image.

Backgrounds were added with a series of lines drawn. This was a very detailed art project that required plenty of patience from the pupils.
