Year 7 have been continuing with their art topic exploring Australian indigenous art. The pupils have been learning about how this culture use nature within their artwork.
A recent session involved some large autumn leaves being painted. We first gave these a white backdrop. The drying process helped to strengthen the leaves.
It was then time to add some Aboriginal inspired colourful artwork. The pupils were asked to think about the detail that we have seen in this type of artwork. Colourful patterns were added to our leaves.
The next task will be to produce an indigenous style rice stick. We will use a similar pattern style to decorate our designs.
