The Year 8 pupils have been producing some thoughtful PSHE work based around the broad theme of how we can keep our bodies healthy.
This learning started with a look at what is meant by peer pressure. We then looked at the wider topic of drugs. Year 8 have been categorising legal drugs, illegals drugs and medicine.
The current unit addresses the dangers of smoking. We have looked in detail at what happens to our bodies when we inhale tobacco.
This led to the Year 8 pupils producing an anti-smoking poster. The class members were asked to think about who the poster is aimed at, what message we want to put across and what is the best way to achieve this?
Class teacher Mr Martin asked the pupils to use large fonts and to focus on the spelling. The end result was a series of powerful posters.
