Year 12 have been working on improving their teamwork during recent drama sessions. A practical activity has been introduced that involves following a sequence of events.
Four chairs were set up in the playground. Pair of students repeated the same sequence of movement around the chairs. This started by walking, then looking at the person behind to give them a signal, a cross diagonal walk and finally turning around our partner.
This challenge can only work if all team members are able to stay on task and follow the sequence. The next step is to speed the exercise up so that it involves some jogging.
The students were asked at the end of the drama session what they enjoyed about the exercise. One student thought that it was quite complex but they enjoyed making a beautiful pattern.
