Volunteers Help to Build the Lansdowne Sensory Garden

We were thrilled to welcome a fantastic group of volunteers from Turner Broadcasting and Works 4 U to our school. Our guests had very kindly offered to build a brand new sensory garden for our students.

It has always been the plan to introduce a sensory garden into our amazing new playground. The school management team approached Turner Broadcasting and asked if they would be able to help. We were very happy when they took up the offer!

We also had some help from our friends at Vibe.

This was a complete build from start to finish. The volunteers prepared the ground, made the planters and built some benchers. They were given expert help from staff members Tom and Ben.

There was plenty of interest from the Lansdowne students watching from afar during break times. They could see some superb teamwork skills from the Turner staff in helping to complete the project.

The end result is a unique sensory garden for the Lansdowne students to enjoy. This will be used as a quiet space for any pupil who might need a little time out. We will also use the garden to learn more about plant growth.

Herbs, solar panels and even a pagoda will feature in our new sensory garden. We would like to thank our visitors who were wonderful ambassadors for Turner Broadcasting throughout the day. This is a brilliant addition to our school playground.
