Year 10 Improve Confidence and Teamwork with Drama

Year 10 worked together during a recent drama lesson to produce an original piece of acting based around our brainstorming session. Drama teacher Miss Anderson asked the students to think about different types of storylines.

The students were asked to think about the idea of an adventure story and what might make this special. Many examples were given. One thoughtful response was that starting a new school might seem like an adventure.

We used some of these ideas to put together a short drama scene. A detective adventure story was decided upon. A basic plot was set up involving different characters. The Year 10 students came up with roles for a detective, a villain, a victim and some witnesses.

We then improvised and acted out the scene. One of the aims was to work together and support each other. This was also a great exercise for helping to improve the confidence of the pupils.
