The Year 11 students have produced some thoughtful work as part of their GCSE Entry Level art examination. The theme for our project is natural forms. The pupils have been looking in particular at the work of the artist Michael Mew for their inspiration.
A series of brightly coloured paintings has now been followed up with some clay tiles being produced. The pupils created a small pinch pot to hold the water for their work. Rolling pins were then used to flatten a piece of clay before cutting it into a square.
The students were given a free choice for their design to add to their tiles. The only guidance was that it must include a theme of natural forms.
