The whole school community came together for the Lansdowne Winter Fair on a Friday afternoon. This was the first time that we have held such an ambitious event. Everyone who attended agreed that it was a wonderful occasion.
Pupils and staff were encouraged to wear their Christmas jumpers. A donation was made towards the overall fund for each jumper worn.
Plenty of work has gone in behind the scenes to prepare for the Winter Fair. Each class decided upon the stall or activity that they would like to organise.
We were able to offer so many different activities. These included a cake stall, Christmas cards, Christmas ornaments, Christmas crackers, nail painting, a lucky dip, a film quiz competition, a magic cup game, a cake decorating stall, a game of Topple the Elves, candy floss, the wheel of fortune, musicians, face painting and drinks.
Cakes were baked during food tech lessons; the Christmas cards were designed in the school art studio.
The highlight of the afternoon was the grand raffle. We were thrilled to welcome into our school the amazing Solomon Smith from the Brixton Soup Kitchen. Lansdowne has a great relationship with the Soup Kitchen. Solomon very kindly agreed to draw the raffle.
All money raised from the Lansdowne Winter Fair will be donated to local causes. Each class has been asked to decide on who they would like to receive the money.
We would like to thank the many parents and carers who were able to come along and support our school community.
