Year 12 PE Gymnastics Exercises

Our main PE topic in Year 12 for the spring term will be gymnastics. The students have started work on improving rolling, balancing and jumping skills.

Different workstations were set up around the school gym. Each student was asked to complete a pencil roll, a teddy bear roll and a forwards and backwards roll.

The jumping activity focussed on tuck, straddle, pike, 180 and 360 degrees jumps. Safety was an important issue. We made sure that safety mats were available.

Finally some balances were carried out. These were designed to help develop different muscles within our bodies. All these skills will be put to use when Year 12 are introduced to the school trampolines later in the term.
