Year 12 Research Car Safety and Science Forces

Science lessons in Year 12 have looked at car safety. The students started this learning by comparing new cars with old models. It soon became clear that older cars had little safety features. The students identified that seat belts, air bags and bumpers are new features.

Our learning is linked to the use of forces in science. Year 12 have seen how if we reduce the mass and speed of a car then we also reduce the force. This will make it safer to travel in a car.

Each class member has produced a newspaper report. The headline provided was: How Safe Is Your Car? Our reports included all the relevant information from our research.
