The Year 7 pupils are learning about primary and secondary colours during art lessons. We have defined that a primary colour can’t be made by mixing other colours; a secondary colour is made by mixing two primary colours.
The pupils have had great fun experimenting with mixing two different colours to see what the outcome is. Art teacher Miss Mendonca explained that the trick is to start with a small amount of each colour, and then add either light or dark colours if needed.
The final piece of artwork for this topic is a colour star. The Year 7 students have painted a star using their knowledge gained from paint mixing.
