New School Building Update

DSC02580

We are pleased to report that the brand new Lansdowne School building remains on schedule for completion. The impressive structure is changing by the week. Plenty of work has been completed since out last site visit. The main change is that the site is now weather proof, allowing for internal fittings to be installed.

One of the most impressive features is the heating that has been installed underneath the hall. This will be an efficient way of keeping warm one of the most used spaces in our new school.

Work has also started on the substation. This will be the main energy provider. This work will soon be followed by the installation of the new boiler system for the school. Many pipes and cabling have also been fitted over recent weeks.

It is also now possible to see the external brickwork that is growing up the side of the structure. This is currently just above the 2m mark. Thousands of bricks will shortly be arriving on site to compete this task.

The roof of the school is also starting to take shape. This is a clean, green design. Pebbles will be lined on top of the school roof to add an extra layer of protection. The views on top of this structure are quite stunning.

The next stage will also involve the completion of the new classrooms. These are incredibly spacious. The forming and boarding process of the walls is well underway.
