Year 9 Maths Assessments

DSC01679

All Year 9 students at Lansdowne School have now completed their end of term maths assessments. This is a continual exercise that Mr Hilton and his maths team carry out, to help with the improved maths learning over the course of the school year.

It allows the teaching staff to understand where extra help may be needed, as well as to set personal targets for each pupil for the new term ahead. The current set of Year 9 assessments showed improvements for pupils of all different abilities.

A large part of the learning curriculum for this work has been focussed around times tables. Mr Hilton is keen to emphasise that the most significant improvements have come from the students who regularly complete their maths homework, and practise their times tables at home.
