Year 8 have been making great progress during recent Food Tech sessions. As well as preparing and baking some incredibly tasty food, a large part of our work is concerned with following instructions and reading a recipe correctly. Our learning intention has been to understand how each individual task is important in the overall process.
All class members have baked some delicious scones to take home and share. We wanted the pupils to understand how stages such as mixing, kneading and cutting the shapes for the scones all play a vital part. Once the baking was complete, we were able to self-evaluate our work. This included the skills that we have learnt, as well as most importantly the taste.
