We are incredibly pleased wit the mature way in which the Year 10 pupils at Lansdowne School have recently completed a literacy comprehension test. The students have been reading the classic Of Mice and Men throughout most of the autumn term. This is a very challenging piece of modern literature that contains some complex relationships between the characters.
Our comprehension exercise in Year 10 asked the pupils to describe in detail some of the themes that are introduced in the first chapter. The students were then required to select one of the main characters and offer up an in-depth description of their traits and motivations.
We will use this comprehension test to see how successful the teaching has been based on this work, and then to look at how we can use our resources to target further learning for each pupil. You can find out a little more about this work in the recording below.
