Year 9 PSCHE at the Why Festival

21

Our PSCHE human rights work in Year 9 came to a conclusion with a wonderful trip to the Why festival at the nearby South Bank Centre. This was series of events with an overall theme of exploring some of the issues involved in human rights, and how we can continue to improve these.

The pupils were able to take part in a number of workshops involving various panel sessions. Our learning focussed on Feminism in the Classroom, Refugees, Caring About Injustice and Protecting our Privacy Online.

Year 9 have been learning about the history of human rights during our lessons back at Lansdowne School. We were able to take this knowledge to the Why festival and be able to continue our learning with some of the ideas being discussed.
