Year 7 Conversation Skills Recording

DSC05227

Year 7 have been working hard on improving their conversation skills with Miss Shelton. We started off this work by asking what are some of the common themes that we need when holding a conversation?

The pupils identified that we usually need an opening greeting, a question, an answer with a comment, and then possibly the return of a question. All of these can help to keep a conversation flowing.

Year 7 sat in a circle and started off a class conversation. It was good to see so many different and original ideas. Questions were asked about both work and home life.

Some extra ideas were then added to this task. Miss Shelton explained how a conversation might also include a short story, an invitation to do something or perhaps even asking for help.

You can listen to some examples of our Year 7 conversation techniques in the short recording below.
