Year 11 are continuing to learn hockey skills as part of our PE learning for the summer term. The pupils have been focussing on passing and the correct way in which to control the hockey ball using our sticks.
A recent session saw Mr. Lee demonstrate the use of the flick shot. This is a highly technical shot that can be useful if we want to send the ball in the air and over the head of an opponent blocking the way.
A game situation when then set up involving all of the students. Mr. Lee and his coaching staff encouraged the pupils to use the different skills that we have learnt at the correct opportunity in the game. These included the bully off routine that starts the game, and then some attempts at using the flick shot.
