Year 7 have started a brand new reading book for the new term at Lansdowne School. The pupils will be reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid over the coming weeks. As the name suggests, this book is written in the style of a diary. Rather than containing chapters, the book is organised into diary dates.
Different table activities have been completed by the pupils. The main theme has been comprehension. Specific questions are set. The students are then asked to refer to the book to find a suitable answer.
Some of the Year 7 class members have been writing in full sentences. Other students have used Communication in Print to help with their learning. We have been asking the pupils about the story so far, and what they think a possible outcome might be.
You can listen to one of the Year 7 class members sharing his working in the recording below.
