Theatre and Citizenship Opportunities

We have a couple of exciting opportunities that pupils of Lansdowne School might like to become involved with.

The first involves our friends from the Polka Children’s Theatre in Wimbledon. The group has a number of shows that may be suitable for pupils at Lansdowne School.

Beasty Baby opens October 14th with a lively celebration of family, growing up and the rituals both children and adults go through in the early years of life using a mix of puppetry and live music.

The Christmas show is Beauty & the Beast. It comes to life in an exhilarating Polka Production brimming with adventure, music, magic and mystery.

Julia Donaldson’s best-selling book The Paper Dolls is lovingly adapted in this gentle story about childhood, memory, and the power of imagination with puppetry and original music.

Polka is a local branch of the National Autistic Society (NAS).

The school has also been contacted to help make pupils and parents aware of a citizenship scheme for young people that is about to start.

Are you a young person with autism aged 16-25?

Ambitious about Autism are looking for volunteers for myVoice, their new project which aims to empower young people with autism to have a greater voice and become active citizens in their society.

You can sign up and find out more on their website over here.

Applications will be open until Friday 30th October.

Finally we would like to remind parents and carers about the Lambeth and Southwark autism group. The website can be accessed over here. You can also Like the Facebook page over here.
