Year 9 Religious Studies Islamic Research

2

Year 9 have started to research the religion of Islam as part of our continued RE learning at Lansdowne School. This work started by looking at some of the key features that can be found in a Mosque.

The pupils watched a short video which explained some of the activities that take place inside a Mosque. Questions were asked about some of the key facts once the film had finished.

A worksheet was then completed by each class member. The students were asked to show an understanding of what we can see inside a Mosque, what takes place, and the importance of some of the objects. A map of a Mosque was also labelled.

This work will continue over the coming weeks. The pupils will be looking at The Quran, and understanding why Muslims view this as a very special book.
