Year 7 Prepare for Lansdowne Sports Day

5

PE lessons in Year 7 for the summer term at Lansdowne School are being used to help the pupils prepare for their first sports day. Mr Lee and his team have been coaching the students to succeed in a number of track and field events.

Sprinting involved the pupils running both a 50m and 100m distance. Each sprint was timed, with the aim of improving with each attempt.

Other athletic skills have also been taught, including javelin, shot put and a standing log jump. These can be highly technical events to take part in. Each pupil has received tuition on how to perform to the best of their abilities.

Future sessions will look at some of the more fun events for Sports Day such as the relay and the egg and spoon race.
