The Year 10 students at Lansdowne School have started work on an exciting project working alongside our friends from Brixton Design Trail. This is a week long celebration of the creative talent in our area that takes place in September.
Lansdowne School is proud to have been selected as a partner to work on the project. The Year 10 pupils have been asked to create some large poster designs that will eventually appear around Brixton during the Design Week.
We welcomed into our school the designer Oscar from Brixton Design Trail. The students held a class discussion about some of the ideas that Brixton means to us. Oscar was keen for the pupils to come up with some words that sum up our Brixton experience.
These then formed the start of our own design work. The idea is to use these words to create some simple designs that will help to tell our understanding of Brixton through a series of colourful design posters.
This project is currently a work in progress. Sketches have been made in class. The next stage is for the students to start printing out their designs to be displayed during Brixton Design Week.
