Year 9 Explore Animal Theme in English and Drama

11

Recent English and drama work in Year 9 at Lansdowne School has looked at the animal world to help with our learning. One of the key themes was for the pupils to understand that animals can live in three different environments: the farm, in the wild, or as a pet.

This then led to a detailed look about why some animals are kept in a zoo. Year 9 have held class discussions to decide if they think it is cruel or not to keep an animal in a zoo. Written work has been produced to back up these arguments.

Meanwhile our weekly drama sessions continue in Year 9. These sessions usually start off with a game of charades to help the pupils warm up. Self-expression is encouraged as the class members develop their mime skills.
