The Year 8 pupils at Lansdowne School spent their first maths lesson of the new term re-capping on their existing knowledge ahead of a new term of learning. Miss V explained how it was important to remember our previous learning before we explore some new maths ideas.
A series of different worksheets were completed by the class members, depending on their learning needs and expectations. Some of the Year 8 pupils used the number line to add up two digit and one digit numbers. Miss V and Ben were on hand to help the students remember some of the techniques that we can use to help us.
Another activity involved using column addition to answer a series of sums. A different group focussed on a sorting exercise by placing animals, food or plant pictures in the right column.
Miss V was very impressed with the work for the first Year 8 maths lesson of the new Lansdowne School. As a reward a maths game was planned for the start of the next session.
