Year 7 Start Early Work Looking at Music Compositons

8

Our recent music learning in Year 7 at Lansdowne School has involved the pupils starting to learn the basics of musical scores. A simple musical score showing the notes C, D, E, F, G and A was handed out as a reference. The pupils were then given a complete score for Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. Our first task was to identify the names of each note.

Once these had been labelled it was then time to play the song on the school keyboards. The Year 7 pupils have been spending some time to become familiar with the keyboards, and to feel comfortable in playing them. The next stage is for class members to stage a short performance of Twinkle, Twinkle in front of their friends.
