Year 7 have been learning about 3D patterns as part of our recent maths learning. We started this learning by thinking about how 2D and 3D shapes are different. We found that 2D shapes are flat, whilst 3D shapes have depth to them.
The pupils then started to think about patterns. We saw how patterns repeat the same sequence. The pupils looked at some examples on the whiteboard. We had to predict what might come next.
Table activities then took place. The Year 7 pupils were asked to complete a worksheet showing a repeating pattern of 3D shapes. Each class member then designed their own sequence of repeating 3D patterns.
