Year 9 Science and Food Nutrition Research

Science work in Year 9 at Lansdowne School has involved the pupils looking at food and nutrition. We have approached this work by looking at the five main food groups. The students have been learning about the nutritional value that each group is able to offer.

Year 9 have also been learning how to sort different foods into their relevant grouping. We have used a healthy eating plate to help with this. The plate is divided into each of the five groups. The pupils have placed the correct foods in each category.

This work will lead to a Year 9 class display being created in the classroom. We also had plenty of fun during the session talking about our favourite types of food.
