Friday afternoon music sessions in Year 10 have seen the students continue with their djembe drumming. Different styles from around the world have been explored. The current focus is to listen to the rhythms used in reggae drumming.
Each drum can play a unique sound. The students have been working together to see how these individual sounds can come together to create a reggae beat. Class teacher Mr Evans has helped the pupils keep to the same pulse.
This was also a good listening exercise. Each drummer needed to be aware of the sounds being played by other pupils to help stay in time with the overall beat.
