Year 9 Maths Data Collection

Recent maths learning in Year 9 has involved data collection. The students have been understanding how to create a survey, logging the results and presenting the findings.

Each class member was asked to devise their own survey. One example was: what is the charity that you would like to see the school raise funds for?

All students and staff around the school were then surveyed. This exercise also helped with communication and confidence skills. The results were logged as we went about the data collection.

Maths teacher Miss V then introduced some of the ways in which we could display our data. Block charts and pictograms were both thought to be useful formats. These were laid out in large scale findings in the maths room.
