Lansdowne Work Experience Celebration Photo Gallery

We are very happy to share some photos from the recent Lansdowne School Work Experience Celebration.

This was an opportunity for the Year 11 and 12 students to celebrate what they have achieved. Professional advice was available ahead of the next phase of learning.

The event started with an interview skills session with our friends from Park Plaza Hotel. The students were given advice on how to showcase their skills in an interview situation.

Our Pop Brixton neighbours were next to speak with the students. The close connection between Lansdowne School and the local businesses at Pop Brixton was explained.

The students picked up some work tips with presentations from local businesses Bhangra Burger and BeMore.

The lunchtime break involved pupils throughout the school. We were thrilled to welcome Uzo The Grill Master into our a school community. A healthy lunchtime BBQ treat was served up for all pupils and guests.

It was then time for some of the Lansdowne students to present their skills. Christy and Troy offered a thoughtful presentation based around their work experience learning. Year 11 student James showcased his outstanding hotel design PowerPoint presentation.

Our work experience partners SPARK were next to address the Work Experience Celebration. A Q&A session took place based around how work experience placements are found.

A donation was then made to the British Heart Foundation. Our school has formed a strong relationship with the Brixton branch after some successful work experience placements. Fundraising events have taken place throughout the school.

We were privileged to then welcome Lambeth Mayor Marcia Cameron into our school. The Mayor of Lambeth very kindly presented badges and certificates to the students. Awards were handed out to our Head Girl and Head Boy.

The Lansdowne Work Experience Celebration finished with closing comments and praise from Executive Head Teacher Mrs Adams and Head of School Mr Jukes.

We would like to thank all our guests who very kindly gave up their time to help with this event.
