Year 8 have continued to make the most of the autumn sunshine by playing plenty of cricket during our PE lessons. We usually start this learning with some indoor coaching from Mr Paine.
Three specific skills were focussed on during a recent session: throwing and catching, batting along the ground, and rolling the ball along the ground. Mr Paine has explained how playing a shot along the ground is a good way of not getting out in cricket. Fielders need to get down low to return the ball.
These skills were then transferred outdoors for the second half of the PE session. A game of quick cricket was set up in the multi-skills pitch. We recapped on the rules and roles that are needed for the game. Everyone got the chance to bat and bowl.
