Year 10 Study Vaccines During Science Lessons

Year 10 have been continuing with their human body science topic. The students are now learning about immunities and vaccines. We have been sequencing how vaccines work when they enter into our body system.

Some new vocabulary has been learnt. Year 10 should now understand how pathogen refers to a bacterial virus that causes illnesses.

We held a class conversation about the benefits of vaccines. Miss McNie asked the pupils if all vaccines were a good idea.

This led to a discussion about the MMR vaccine. We concluded that extensive research is needed if we want to make claims about vaccines.

Year 10 will soon be tested on their knowledge for this subject. We will then start our new science topic looking at the periodic table.
