Year 13 Work Experience in the City of London

The Year 13 students took part in a successful work experience visit to Lloyds Bank in the City of London. We were able to work alongside Gather and Gather, the catering company that supplies all the food and drink for Lloyds staff.

This was an experience that was designed to help the students feel comfortable and confident in the world of work. We planned our route on public transport. The students caught the Northern Line from Stockwell to Moorgate.

Once we arrived at Lloyds Bank we were split into two teams. The first group was given the responsibility of working with the chef to prepare the canapés. We had a brief tasting session. The pupils were asked to try and identify some of the ingredients used.

The second team were placed on front of house duties. The Lansdowne students were given the responsibility of serving the banking staff with their snacks and coffees. Both teams then swapped roles.

This was a fantastic opportunity for the Year 13 students to think about a career in catering. We would like to thank Gather and Gather and all the Lloyds Bank staff for making us feel so welcome.

You can listen to one of the students explaining a little more his trip to Lloyds Bank in the recording below.
