Year 9 have produced some impressive African art necklaces. This has been a great sensory activity for the students. Each class member was encouraged to use a variety of materials and to build up the textures.
Some of the resources used included dry pasta, straws and thick cardboard. A paper plate was used as the starting point for our necklaces. A circle was cut from the inside to produce a necklace design.
The Year 9 pupils were then given a free choice to create a design with their own selection of colours. We have been looking at how traditional African necklaces are very bright in their design.
Once these have been completed we will hang them in the art studio to create a dazzling display.
