Year 12 Sea Inspired Ceramic Pinch Pots

The Year 12 students have produced some creative ceramics artwork themed around the deep sea. Each student created a couple of pinch pots using clay. These were then joined together to create a sphere.

The balls were fired up in the school kiln and then glazed. This is a delicate process where the designs for our sea inspired sculptures is added.

Some amazing ideas were on show. One of the students sculptured some turtles climbing around the ball. Another idea was to add the imprint of sea shells.

The next stage will be to give the spheres a second firing in the kiln. They will then be ready to take home and proudly display.
