Exploring Emotions in Year 7

Recent PSHE lessons in Year 7 have focussed on emotions. We usually start these sessions with some shared circle time. The class members are asked to open up and explain how they are feeling, adding in a little detail about why.

An emotions game was then played. This was a board game that helped the pupils to think about different emotions and how they make us feel.

Each class member rolled a dice and then moved their character around the board. Each square that it landed on contained an emotion. The pupils were then asked to show how we look when we are experiencing this emotion.

This was also a verbal exercise. Each pupil had to explain how it feels for this particular feeling. We finished off the lesson with an uplifting burst of Wii Dance.
