Year 7 are in serious training for the Lansdowne School Sports Day. This will take place at the Dulwich Sports Club on 19 July. Parents and carers are of course welcome to come along to support the students.
Year 7 have been focussing on some of the activities that will take place on the day. A recent lesson helped the pupils to improve their hammer throwing skills, boccia and sprinting.
Safety was an important consideration for the hammer event. PE teacher Mr Paine helped the students to be able to launch the hammer in a straight line.
Boccia is a popular sport amongst the pupils. It is accessible for all pupils to take part in. Staff member Edna helped the pupils to launch the boccia ball at the right height and pace.
Timings took place for the sprints. These are being monitored for improvement each lesson. We are happy to share a photo gallery below.
