The Year 12 students have been using their drama time to help welcome the new class members who have joined us from Turney School. Drama is a great way for the students to find out a little more about our friends and to work together as a team.
Our first drama session since the long break explored some of the activities that we enjoyed during the summer holiday. Each class member was asked to describe to their friends some of the highlights over the past six weeks.
Drama teacher Miss Moorhouse encouraged the students to tell a story about their summer. We wanted to hear a descriptive version of the events, rather than simple answers.
This is a great way for the students to improve their verbal skills. Some varied responses were heard. It was great to hear how the students have made the most of their free time.
Our drama session came to a close the Year 12 students choosing some of their favourite games. Splat, Twenty-one and Zip and Zap were all played in a friendly manner.
