Voting Takes Place to Elect New Lansdowne Head Boy

Voting has taken place to elect the next Lansdowne School Head Boy. The ballot will also open shortly to decide upon who will be the Head Girl for the new academic year.

Four Year 11 candidates bravely put themselves forward for election. They have all been working hard on their manifestos. The aim has been to let other students know why they think they will be an outstanding representative for our school community.

The election took place on a Friday afternoon. All pupils in the school had one vote. A special polling station was set up for this process. This was a secret ballot with no one else knowing who voted for each candidate.

The election process was overseen by previous Heads who are now in the school sixth form. Head of School Mr Jukes gave a short speech to the electorate ahead of casting their vote. We heard about the correct way to cast a vote with no ballot papers being spoilt.

This is a great exercise to introduce the Lansdowne pupils to how democracy works. We look forward to announcing the result very soon.

Good luck to all the candidates!
